Why it is important to deal with both pain and inflammation Pain and inflammation are pyhsiological responses to injury and disease designed to encourage the body to heal and protect itself from further damage. Most pain exists because nerves are either damaged or because tissue and fluids are applying compression on the nerve. With skeletal pain swelling is often visible, and body temperature at the site of pain is usually elevated. In addition, the inflammation is sometimes associated with skin redness. Sometimes good therapy might involve working through the pain and inflammation with appropriate exercise and the use of cold to reduce pain and inflammation followed by mild heat to loosen stiff muscles. Unfortunately, pain and inflammation become a vicious circle. Pain creates a message in the body that says 'SEND FLUIDS HERE, HEALING AND CUSHIONING ARE NEEDED'. Fluid pressure, on the other hand SQUEEZES NERVES AND OTHER TISSUE AGGRAVATING PAIN AND RESTRICTING MOVEMENT. It is therefore more effective if both events are eliminated or reduced to break the cycle. |

Why we recommend that X-Celerel be used prior to cold cold application of the TherapEze pad
In nature there are several wonderful devices available for soothing nerve and inflammatory responses, two are natural compounds used in X-Celerel and a third is a physiotherapeutic mechanism, such as that utilized in the TherapEze pad. X-Celerel is a massage therapy cream with a unique combination of both of these natural compounds in conjunction with a natural herbal vegetable oils to optimize wetting and encourage skin absorption. The massage effect alone has some effect in pain relieving qualities. However, combined with the cold therapy its efficacy increases four to ten times (please refer to the how X-Celerel works page by clicking this question above). |

Life of the TherapEze pad The TherapEze cold and hot pad is made of a new tough, flexible rubber that retains both heat and cold, transferring it directly to joints or muscles to provide superior therapeutic treatment for injuries or chronic pain management. It is made for thousands of uses, and can last for years. |

X-Celerel is Sulfa free. MSM is an ingredient found in the X-Celerel cream. X-Celerel does not contain any Sulfa drugs. They are completely different.
The MSM molecule, or methyl-sulfonyl-methane, contains in its structure the mineral element Sulfur which is an essential mineral required by the human body. In a healthy diet we ingest such mineral elements in the foods that we eat. A diet rich in vegetables absorbs a healthy amount of SULFUR – bitter herbs, broccoli, fruits, etc. Often these vegetables deliver this sulfur in the form of MSM. NEITHER SULFUR, NOR THIS ORGANIC COMPOUND SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH THE ANTIBACTERIAL SULFA DRUGS (please notice the difference in spelling). Sulfa drugs are by design toxic synthetic antimicrobial agents and are completely different from the mineral Sulfur or the natural natural organic compounds such as MSM. MSM has been extensively studied for anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Due to X-Celerel’s unique formulation and application method, MSM along with other Aloe Vera components can be infused through the skin. |

Allergic sensitivity to X-Celerel Rarely is anyone allergic to the ingredients in X-Celerel. X-Celerel contains natural compounds that are found in the human body and plants. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed. Some people have been reported allergic to MSM taken orally and in large doses - between 1 and 3 grams. The MSM dosage applied to the skin in the X-Celerel formulation is very small - only 7% of the weight of the cream. Consult with a health care professional before using this or any product during pregnancy, or if you have a serious medical condition. |

The Nature of Aloe Vera Aloe Vera is a succulent plant that grows in arid climates such as the Arizona deserts. (See the Products page for a picture) For centuries it has been well accepted as having amazing properties for treating and helping with many disorders in the human body. For centuries among indigenous people, it has been the favorite natural treatment for burns and burn pain because of its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. In addition, cosmetic companies add its sap or other derivatives to various products - makeup, moisturizers, soaps, sunscreens, shampoos and lotions. It is also supposed to be useful for dry skin conditions, especially eczema. The X-Celerel formula when used correctly enables some infusion of this juice through the waterproof barrier of the skin. |

Indications for Cold and Heat Indeed cold is better for pain because it reduces swelling (a reaction that places pressure on nerves) and it numbs pain. Heat is most useful to relax stiff muscles because it increases circulation in the injured areas. Sometimes physical therapists apply heat after cold treatments or before exercise. |

Chilling temperature forTherapEze cold pads. The TherapEze cold pads can be placed directly into your freezer. The temperature can go to -5ºF in a typical refrigerator freezer or even low as -20ºF in the deep freeze. Your cold pad will remain soft and pliable and within moments of skin contact will be very comfortable even at the lowest temperature. It will conform to your specific area of your joints or muscles and provide you with superior therapeutic treatment for injuries and chronic pain management. |
Storage of X-Celerel Never chill X-Celerel. Only store at room temperature. Chilling can cause the MSM to crystallize out and make the cream gritty. Keep container capped to prevent spillage and evaporation. |
Pad leakage TherapEze can not leak even if punctured. As with any material, with enough stress, it can be damaged, but even though it is very soft, there is no liquid inside to leak. This newly developed material was engineered by Clint Fruitman, a materials scientist and biomedical engineer, to be used repeatedly and efficiently for muscle and joint pain relief. It is excellent as therapeutic treatment of injuries and chronic pain management. |
Cold duration of TherapEze The recommended time for cold therapy is 15 minutes. The TherapEze pad might stay colder longer if chilled in the deep freeze, but its effectiveness diminishes as the pad warms up. From either the refrigerator freezer or the deep freeze, TherapEze usually works well for the entire 15 minute therapy period. This pad can be used repeatedly throughout the day. In a freezer it cools down rapidly. |

X-Celerel dosage The ingredients of X-Celerel are natural coming from plants and food and the concentration of compounds like MSM is low. There is no limit to the amount of X-Celerel cream you can use. However, for effective usage a ¼ to ½ teaspoon over a small area should be sufficient, e.g., ½ teaspoon for one application to the lower back and massage until dry. More will be needed for larger areas. Sometimes repeat doses are useful. |
Changing a TherapEze pad's temperature rapidly into its heating mode The uniquely formulated material of the TherapEze pad can go directly from the freezer to the microwave. It will just take longer to heat than a room temperature pad. However, as with any heating pad, caution should be used to prevent overheating. Trial and error is necessary because each microwave heats differently. Recommended use temperature is 135º F with the pad placed on fabric, such as t-shirts or towels, to protect the skin. |

TherapEze shapes
The TherapEze pad’s unique softness and flexibility even when frozen allow it to easily conform to different areas of the body. The oval shapes can be used almost anywhere. The size you choose should be dependent on areas of pain you need to treat. If you wrap the large oval in an spiral shape it will conform more tightly around the ankles and feet. Small ovals are usually just folded over the hand as seen in the illustration on the exhibition page. |
Cleaning the TherapEze pad The TherapEze pad is made of patent pending tough, flexible rubber and can be cleaned with soap and water, mineral spirits or alcohol. It is best if towel dried and coated with a thin layer of baby powder or corn starch before freezing. |
